I finally convinced my wife to let me get a new computer for christmas! I get a really good deal through dell, and really don't have the time to build one on my own, so I bought one of their new P4 1.4 gig machines. It should be here in a few days, and I was wondering what kind of rc5 rate I can expect from it.

Anyone have any numbers?

I will be sure to report back in a week or so with the speed.
 
Unfortunately, it's not going to be too powerful. Someone else managed to do a full core benchmark, and the most you're going to get is just under 2MK/sec.🙁
 
Really? Wow, my P3 733 gets 1.94 while I am useing it fairly heavily here at work. Any major reason for the p4's being slower?

At this point, the dnet client is not optimized for the P4 core. You should eMail the boys and offer to be a beta tester.🙂
