New addition to garage

Both awesome cars. I'm curious, though, why own both? Unless one becomes a major project they seem kind of redundant - the goat will be more sophisticated, the trans am has more musclecar looks, but both are big 2 door, four seaters with the chevy smallblock V8, rear drive, presumably 6-speeds in both.

I'd buy either, but I don't think I'd buy both.

If I was going to buy a second car to augment my Lincoln Town Car, it wouldn't be a big cruiser that would do the same thing my lincoln does, it would probably be either a small sports car or (more likely) a pickup for the utility.

Well, I wasn't really sure what direction I wanted to go with my TA, but I decided that I'd like to at first make it a weekend car to stop the daily driving from taking it's toll. Not that the car couldn't handle it, it most certainly could. I just wanted to keep it in great condition.

The TA is also modified, it was originally an auto car that I swapped over to a 6 speed manual. (T56 M12) It's got an aftermarket cam in the motor, full exhaust with longtubes and no cats, LS6 intake along side some other small stuff.

I decided to start looking for a car to replace the TA as a daily driver, while maintaining the TA for weekend fun. While looking I found that there's nothing brand new that remotely excites me to think about driving and I didn't want to buy a DD car and end up using the TA anyway.

I compared prices of more economical cars like the cobalt, altima, etc.. and found that for the increase in price I'd much rather drive the GTO on a daily basis.

This GTO is an automatic, with usable backseats. The TA's backseats are... well.. a joke. The GTO is almost laughably labeled a muscle car, where it's interior comfort and ride quality truly rival luxury cars. I guess the 6.0 LS2 and the GTO name alone make the coupe qualify as muscle car status.

To drive or ride in, these two cars couldn't be further apart.

Wow. I have a White 2002 TA sitting in my garage right next to a 2007 G8 GT. Minus the fact that the 2007 ZX10R and 2007 Yamaha Warrior are parked next to the TA if I were color blind we'd have pretty similar looking garages.

Congrats dude.

Would it be horrible if I said they were both owned by my wife? =O

I don't have pictures of her cars offhand, just my truck. Would have to snap some later.

Nice. I've been on the fence about the GTO's. I've never been real wild about the Pontiac styling. I think it looked better as the Monaro. Hard to argue with the performance, though .. especially with the LS2.

Test drive one, and you'll buy it.

I can't help but laugh when people buy so called daily drivers that are worth much more than their toy cars.

I didn't know toy cars had to be expensive ferraris or anything like that. You can laugh at me. My DD in my sig is more expensive than my old bug that I drive on weekends.

I own four cars. All of them 2-door 4 seater coupes. *shrug* ya like what ya like, I guess.
Although, the most recent purchase (and current project) is AWD, and to be used as a winter car, so I guess it's not quite as redundant as the others.

Nice cars, op. Pics of your hair? 😉

Haha, nice. That Neon looks pissed.

GOATS???? TA???? what does that mean?

TA = Trans Am.

Goat = GTO. Not sure exactly the reason behind that one.

I agree with the OP about the TA back seats being a joke. My camaro is the same way. I've been tempted to just remove the rear seats and make a rear seat delete to make it flat back there.
