If anyone else is having SCSI CD and CDR problems under WinXP (like I was), and you are running an Adaptec U160 SCSI card, you might want to try this driver. (Just posted on Mar. 27 by Adaptec.)
<< Notes: This driver has been developed to overcome speed negation issues with some devices, like scanners, CDs and CD-Rs, that may default to the slowest speed (asynchronous) when using the embedded driver in XP. This can cause buffer under-runs on some CD Recorders. You DO NOT need this driver unless you are experiencing these issues. >>
Also note:
<< Caution: This is a release candidate (beta), and not a released driver.
Installation Instruction: This release candidate (beta) driver does not have a digital signature. During installation Windows will prompt you with a warning screen and require you to accept the driver without the signature. >>
However I have installed this driver on my system. It works, and it cured the problem I was having with buffer underruns in Nero.
