I went to a nearby honda dealership and the new accords are out. The sales guy says they just came in yesterday, but they weren't cleaned up and show ready until today. This is in the LA metro area. They don't have brochures yet though.

It's a very nice car, looks better in person than in pictures. Looks much nicer than the design it replaces. I'm starting to notice that there are alot of 3d nuances and styling themes in very new designs that don't show up well in photographs. Interior and exterior build quality is incredible. I was kind of disappointed in the display gauges though, they are supposed to some new LED technology but they look like normal gauges to me.

The new altima was briefly my favorite mainstream sedan, but now it's the accord again. :D Interior seems a bit smaller still than the altima, but it's probably enough for most people.

I'll take this opportunity to usher NFS4 into this thread...

BTW, were they coupes or sedans?

The one and only one on display was an EX I4 sedan. $1500 markup over sticker since it's the very first batch. They said they got 19 in on fri but they only got one cleaned up for display.

The sales guy kept trying to get me to trade in my corolla for it. :/ Heh, my car would be enough for a down payment and thats it. :(

Dealers that mark up over sticker are trash. :frown:

I wouldn't go there again if I was you.

you think so?

I agree it sucks, but I'm kind of used to it now, it seems fairly common in socal on hot cars. Heck, people all over the nation are bitching that the nissan dealers are all gouging on the 350Zs that they are getting.

I went to a body shop yesterday and their estimator said it was $500 dollars worth of damage. :Q It's just a stupid little ding. They said 50 bux will get the dent out, but not repair the paint.

Honestly, I don't really care so much anymore. This car is getting all torn up because I drive so much, there are rock chips all over the entire front. The warranty mileage is almost out and this car is only 2 yrs old. I'm not sure I'll be driving this car in another year anyways, the interior is a bit small for me.

thx for asking tho. :)

Yup, I think so.

Now that i'm aware of some of the hidden markup on cars, you're already doing the dealer a favour by buying it at MSRP. Marking up beyond that is not "supply and demand", it's pure greed.

There will always be a dealer around who will sell at sticker. (and thank you for it)

To crap on the design or to get a hot deal?

You'd have to pay me to be seen in the 2003 accord. It looks like a cross breed of the Ford Focus, 2003 Toyota Camry, and the 2002 Nissan Altima.

I would love to buy a new 2003 Honda Accord LX but there are two major problems:
1) I ain't gonna pay a $4,000 premium when I can buy a brand new 2002 Honda Accord LX for $15,544
2) I already bought a 2002 SE on impulse (mistake I know) and DAMNIT I COULD HAVE SAVED $1800 if I had waited 3 weeks!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

*runs out of house screaming and kicks the car, car alarm goes off*

You could have also saved yourself another $500.00 if you didn't just put that big dent in the car. :p

You got your guys mixed up:p

Anyway, thanks for the heads up bro. Time to go take a looksie. I'm just saddened that Honda is getting rid of their counter-clockwise rotating engines. That always set them apart from everything else on the road. First, the S2000, then the RSX and now the Accord.

Who else thinks it looks like a Peugeot?? :D (EDIT Pic)

Wait a few months for dealers to overstock on them and you'll be able to bargain like crazy...
hey, happened with the WRX in my area & the Camry. Will probably happen with the 350Z as well, though the Altima is still a bit hard to bargain on. A nice TL or CL is almost the same as the new Accord anywho...

I'd rather have a REAL Peugeot... ;)
