I just got a Abit IS7-E with a P4 2.4 (800mhz). I have read some memory has issues with this mb. so, who has an Abit IS7-E? Which RAM are you using?

Much Thanks.

Memory issues are only for those that use modules based off of the Winbond CH-5 IC's.

Ideally, you should be looking for modules based on the Winbond BH-5 IC's which are on the Kingston HyperX PC3200 (Non-A) [Kingston says they can and will switch to CH-5 at any time], Mushkin PC3200/PC3500 Level II, OCZ Platinum PC3500 Limited Edition, Corsair PC3200LL Revision 1.1 (Newer revisions are CH-5), and Corsair PC3500 Revision 1.1 (Newer revisions are questionable). There are a few others, such as TwinMos and Buffalo, but from what I know, Buffalo has been using Micron chips on their PC3700 which used to have Winbond BH-5 chips on them (TwinMos definitely does not use Winbond BH-5 anymore).

Wicktron, thanks for the response. Those are the only types of memory that will work with a Abit IS7? If so, that's pretty depressing and I wish I hadn't ordered this board since it seems to be impossible to tell if what memory is based on Winbond CH-5 IC's or Winbond BH-5 IC's.

Most Intel chipsets do not like Winbond CH-5. The IS7 is a very good board, you just have to put in the time to research what memory to get.
