EDIT: Lots of babbling about the DVI-D connection supposedly not working.
Turns out to be fine now. I read elsewhere that it is sometimes necessary to unplug the power cord from the monitor, and then cycle the power. I did this, but honestly it may have simply been something not connected securely. Everything works like you'd expect. Sigh.
