new 52x cd-rw - burn errors

hi,

i got win xo sp1, 384 MB ram, maxtor 40 gig hd ntfs, all defragged. All drives are on udma. I got 80 pin udma cables for a all my drives. I run memtest86 an prime95 and everything is fine.
I have nero 5.5.10.42.

When i burn CDs ( TDK brand 48x) with any speed i get verify errors, especially Zip-files, i get CRC errors one in a while. Typical scenario: I burn a 500MB zip file 4x (! because i thought the slower the better) and one file in this archive is corrupted. It's always that one file in an archive or the whole CD corrupted or similiar.

Any help appreciated !

thanks

no other progs are running in the background of course

This may not apply to you, but when I was using other burning programs everything worked fine for me when Nero 5.5 didn't work. When I upgraded to Nero 6 my cd burner was able to burn everything Nero threw at it though. This isn't a sales pitch, it very well could be another problem. Try burning with other programs and see what happens.

i have a soyo dragon+, kt266A board. my hd is on ide3 (promise), my cd-rom on ide0 and the burner on ide1. All devices are masters therefore on their own port.
i have a lite-on 55246S with the latest firmware (60SF or something).

However, i will try if i have the same problems with nero6.

greets

i got nero6, i checked my ide cables and even swapped my CDRom <-> Lite-On Burner.

I tried several times to burn a ~500MB CD, last time even at 4x (i could burn at 48)...but the s*cker gives me one coaster after the other.
Every burn i have i get 2 or 3 files with verify errors...even at 4x burn speed w/a 52x burner....

Anyone an idea ?

If not...i think i have to RMA that thing....that's just not normal...
