I like the way it looks. Who cares if there is color on the ABXY buttons? Do you not know where they are by now?

If you have someone who isn't used to it, let them use an old one. Or get the standard edition as this one is considered a special edition.

I actually liked the monochrome look of the controller without the colors myself. I was really surprised to see so much dislike for it here. $65 is a bit steep though. The "new" d-pad seems very gimmicky, but as said before, we need a hands-on write-up of it first to see if they fixed the real problem of the sensors underneath.

Sony and Nintendo hold the patents for good d-pad design, that's why Microsoft can't really make one worth a shit, because anything that would be decent would infringe. At least that's what I've read in the past.

65 is $5 cheaper than the current controller + play and charge kit. and surely, they'll release this standalone in the future.

The $64.99 price is the same price as the current controller plus play-n-charge bundle. There's no price increase here.

They'll release the controller by itself probably a couple of months after the bundle.
