I know it's Ridley Scott and takes place in same universe as his Alien. The trailer looks good, but nothing to be crazy about. It's almost exact same plot as Alien so far (prance around at alien ship, get infected, bring it to your own ship, get owned).

It's not a remake. It takes place in the same universe and before Alien. It's about the Space Jockey from the first film (and by the looks of it, how the Aliens came to be).

I'm excited simply because I love the franchise and the trailers look pretty decent.

As a fan of Ridley Scott after hearing about the Alien vs. Predator travesties then hearing about a more direct Alien prequel that became this. Set in the same universe (maybe? not quite?) but perhaps a re-imagining of the source material. Yes I am excited because even if Ridley Scott is just repeating himself it is still (as a fan) worth seeing for me.

I'm in the same boat. Sure it looks like it could be cool but nothing about this makes it drool worthy. I guess that I've just been burned so many times on trailers that look cool that a trailer rarely gets me excited any more. I always wait until reviews are out to go watch a movie now. Sure it's Ridley Scott and I usually love his movies but this doesn't look that awesome.
