You've never heard of Pentax? Not much of a photographer then I would say. Pentax is quite a welll known company in the photography market.

The Optio S is getting rave reviews everywhere. I am totally going to get one. I was thinking of the s230 or similar model, but my roommate has one. It is pretty damn heavy. It is a nice size, but it still warrants putting it in a carrying case of some sort. The Optio S is about the same weight as my minidisc recorder if memory serves. It is also substantially smaller than the S230 which is my main concern.

Steve's digital cameras gave a pretty nice review of the Pentax.

I would really like one of those tiny cameras.

Dude...

I have a G2 with filters & stuff, but I'm going to get this Pentax!

It's SO practical!

If you're looking to buy a new dig-cam... this one's highly recommended!

Another small 3.2mp digicam to consider is the Canon A70. Its a tad larger but it allows you to use AA batteries (4 of them) and it has the option of using add-on lenses such as wide and telephoto, with a seperate adapter.

Pentax, Kyocera, and Minolta all have awesome compact 3-5 megapixel cameras that in my opinion are much better than the Canons. But the price premium and less aggressive marketing causes most people to shy away from them.
