NIce...

Ofcourse you know this will reach like 3.8ghz but you wont be happy and find one better then sell it to me, right???? ;)

Water cooling still??? Here's to hoping you can get to 3.8ghz...I think 4 may be a bit high with water cooling....What do the temps look like currently???

Also you have 3.5ghz with 1.49v actual which means if you run to 1.6-1.65v you have quite a bit to play with....

Crap....NOw I figured out why you needed to do some modding of the power supply...I hope that 430watt antec can take you as high as you can go...

:)

thanks!

I have a prommy sitting in my hallway.. waiting for some usage!

if i can get up to 3.8 on water, hopefully i can push this to 4+ on the prommy

:)

then get rid of my cpu waterblock and get a nb and gpu block and push this baby to the max...

i think my next project will be to do the vtt mod to my board and then get around to modding my 9800np as well!

3.75 at stock voltage very nice!

At 3.75 Is it faster then your 2.4@3.5 ? How much diffrence does FSB make vs higher clock provaded they are running similar cas timings?

darn it! that's a darn good question!

You know, i should test it out!

Considering i have two chips that are now stable at 3.5 ghz... I should see what the difference is.

I can run my 3.0C @ 233 mhz 1:1 and my 2.4c @ 292 mhz 5:4

they would both be running the exact same timings!

hmm... would be a good test huh?

Hell yeah it would be intresting to see!!

Some quick test benches suggestions, 3dmark/pcmark and just grab a fat file 1gb or so and winrar it :D

Don't waste your time with those cap benchmarks....Give us some superpi, tmpgenc test file, maybe an mp3 encoding, UT2003demo, etc...

We already know that 3dmock doesn't resemble real world games much, anf I have already shown the flaws in the pcmock2004 benchmark...Utter crap....

I want to see the tests at 3.5ghz with different fsb but same clock speed...

<Darth Vader> Your powers are now complete</Darth Vader> That PSU mod you posted@BleedinEdge is sweet, and with that Prommie and new CPU you should be getting a crazy overclock indeed. Not to mention your board is now Frankenstein's Monster since you literally electrocuted it back to life! :Q If you're taking benchmark request, please PM MechBgon and get the SETI bench unit and see how fast that bad boy turns it out, thanks :)

You are getting into a truly fast system. Wow. Prommie ready to go? Nice. Keep us posted, this is a fun read.

prommy is ready to go!

argh.... should i keep playing with water or move this bad boy over to the prommy? choices choices!!!

so yeah....

anymore requests for any other benchies?

edit:

looks like 3.75 is reaching the limit of this chip... pumped voltage from 1.525 to 1.675 and can't get it to even run prime for longer than 3 minutes.

I will back down speed to 3.7 and try less voltage to see if it'll be stable there.

even with the PSU mod and a Prommy ~ i wonder if the moboard is capable of handling the power requirements of 3.75ghz???

yeah...

not doin' so well..

it's gonna go in my prommy soon! :)

just gotta do some

3.5 ghz @ 292 fsb vs. 35 ghz @ 233 fsb testing!

:)

then in the prommy it goes!

my guess would be that they will be very close.
overall i think its gonna come down to the GAT/CAS settings.

my 2.4b vs 2.4c @ 3.4ghz (no HT) was extremely close....

:)

just to explain my results.....

the 2.4c gets the high FSB award, but no GAT and a 3:2 mem ratio really hurt.
goes to show that FSB alone has alot of power within it.

the 2.4b gets the GAT award (streetracer), and the 1:1 mem ratio really kicks up the performance.
goes to show that GAT streetracer @ 189fsb can equal the performance of 283fsb.

both setups were running cas222 for this comparison.
running lamer cas settings killed the performance of both setups, but more so on the 2.4b chip since it was heavily relying on GAT and cas settings for its performance.

gluck :D

okay okay, it was late last night and it's my birthday so I decided to splurge for a 3.0C after reading your post:gift:. . .but mine shipped from La Puente, CA, should I be worried?;)

I want to get 3.7GHz with my Zalman (which seems to cool nearly as well as my Spir@l H2O system did), think I'm dreaming?:moon:
