*new* 28.90 Detonator drivers

I am using the 28.28's right now and the refresh rate fix works fine. I will try these later. 🙂

Well, my experience with them was bad. I'm running a GeForce 4 Ti4400 on Win2K, and first of all the refresh rate fix doesn't seem to work. I decided to restart my PC to see if that would help, but when it started up it said that the drivers were not made for my graphics card and reverted me back to the standard VGA drivers.

I just went through all of the recently released drivers and the newest drivers that would install and run with the refresh rate fix is the 28.35. Before, I was using the 28.32 detonators.

Installed em fresh and clean and eek.. my GF2 Pro didn't like em. Kept having weird problems until I just did a system restore to earlier today. Just decided to let people know there might be a problem.

They're much faster in Quake2 but pretty much the same in everything else except Serious Sam 1 & 2, which I haven't tested yet.

Also I'm happy to report that they appear to be proper drivers instead of a home-made hack job. Absolutely everything is suppprted in the INF.

I've been running them for a while with no problems. They are better than the 28.80's for me. I don't seem to be having a problem with refresh rates at all. I know it's well documented etc, but it hasn't affected me. Well I don't think it has. How do I check for sure?

😉

Shagga, your monitor OSD should have details somewhere of the refresh rate you are currently using, probably your current resolution also. It differs slightly from monitor to monitor.

To everyone having problems with refresh rates, remember that the latest version of Riva Tuner (2.0 RC 10.1) will work with any version of the Detonators and fix the issue.

Also I've heard that these drivers are faster in anisotropic filtering but I haven't had a chance to test this yet. If you guys are still testing them, you might like to try out this aspect of them.
