Better?? This isn't some damn beauty contest. It's MONEY!!!!! It really doen't matter WHAT it looks like when it comes down to it

Sure, but everyone prefers a nice looking bill.

The Euro's design is weak. I mean, wtf is up with all the f-ing bridges and windows? They should've put some of the great european minds there...Gauss, Einstein..plenty more like them...

The USD has no colour and the yellow gradient doesn't sit very well.

The new CDN bills have nice colours, great design, overall very nice. Can't wait til they redesign the $20 and 50

NOBODY CARES!! No one cares what money looks like. Does the pimple-faced dork behind the register care if you have a pretty little $20 bill or a tattered, torn, dirty $20? NO! Money is money!!!

Where does your money spend most of its time?? In your wallet, in a safe, or in the bank. Do you sit and stare at your money like you would a picture? NO! Do you make little picture frames for every dollar bill you have?? NO!!

It doesn't mean jack squat. It would only matter to self-indulging hipsters that think that a dollar's design is "hip."

Or to Euro-haters who throw a fit when their money isn't green and white anymore.

Money would be a lot easier to save if they put hot babes instead of dead presidents on them. :D

The Bureau of Engraving's Ferguson acknowledged the new bill would not discourage counterfeiters from this process, but he said there would still be features that, with a quick look, could distinguish a "leached" note as counterfeit.

"It will still have a different watermark and security strip. You could tell the difference in about 15 seconds," Ferguson said.

I have yet to have anyone look at a bill I passed them for more than 5 seconds. If it takes that much scrutiny, I doubt the changes will make much of a dent in counterfeiting.

How do you keep track of your balance with one of those cards?

You can recognize the amount of a Canadian bill by the colour.

eg. Red is a 50, green is a 20. Less chance of giving somebody the wrong bill by accident.

If you're so busy/rushed/incapacitated that you can't tell 1 from 5 from 10 from 20 then you don't need to be carrying around money.

When I buy something, I take the amount that that thing cost, and subtract that from how much money I had before I bought the thing. If I deposit a check in the bank, I add that amount of money instead of subtracting it. Same thing for when I get paid, I add that amount.

I've known a lot of people that do care what money looks like, and for a good reason. Multiple colors help visually chalenged folks to distinguish bills (especially the elderly). When all bills are the same color, it might take more time for the person to identify it, which is one more burdon to life. "Color-coding" (although not the case of the $20 bill) is a true benefit, and not just for aesthetic-freeks.

Edit: What Eug said. ;)

Of all the counterfeit bills in circulation, about 40 percent are produced digitally, according to the Secret Service, which was established in 1865 to fight counterfeiting.

1865? wow.

I heard that after the Civil War when the country was in chaos you can easily tell a counterfeit bill over a real one because the counterfeit ones would be of higher quality than the real ones.

my father actually has a really hard time distinguishing between different coins now... its only a matter of time before he can't tell which bill hes holding. yay degenerative eye diseases!

My grandma has problems with her eyes. She uses a debit card. Much easier for her.

I hardly ever use cash...in fact, the only time I use it is at fast food joints. My CC handles everything else. Money is overrated ;)

Not if you don't want your purchases tracked. ;)
