new 100.65 for 8800 gts driver wont install on vistas?

I tried installing the new 100.65 driver for my 8800gts on windows vistas ultimate.
The drivers start to install,then I get a message saying,"nvidia install error....this operating system is not windows vistas"????What gives????

The 100.59 drivers work perfectly.Also my system has been experiencing serious crashes when I play supreme commander and oblivion.I have heard that many other 8800 series owners have been experiencing the same thing.

I have tried everything.Can someone help?????

Just a thought. Have you updated the BIOS for the motherboard?? THere are some issues that were fixed via a BIOS update for the 680i motherboards.
 
100.64 worked,but 100.65 still wont install.
Keeps saying that my operating system is not windows vista.
Thats one of the most expensive lies that I have ever heard..lol.

I dont understand,all of my drivers,bios,and etc are up to date.
 
You're not the only one. I also had trouble installing the driver on Vista. One odd thing is that the driver installed fine previously. This problem started with changing an 8800gts card in my system with another 8800gts.
After struggling for 4 hours, I reinstalled Vista, and it took care of the issue.

Try a new fresh download of the international version for 100.65 driverrs,uninstall old ones before installing the latest and make sure you disable anti-virus right before install to reduce any installation problems.
 
I Installed the new Sli driver,then I downloaded and installed the international 100.65 driver.
I installed it and it went through....whew!!!!

The driver is reading as:
nvidia
2/10/2007
7.15.11.65

Is this the correct info for the new 100.65 driver?

Thanks for all of your help guys!
my vistas computer score is still 1.0 lol.
For some reason or another....vista doesn't like
8800 cards.When i was using my 7900 gs with vistas,my score was 5.7..lol.
The 7900 gs was $300 less than the 8800 gts...lol
