I thought this was a good deal. If not..sorry.

...can anyone figure out a use for this thing? I'm pretty sure there's a lot of extra wiring involved for it to work as a actual monitor.

If it can be done though...I'd take one.

The iopeners came with a similar screen and I understood several people found it easy to use it externally once the pinout is figured

<< You can unload these on ebay for an easy $50 a pop. >>

Doubtful! Centrix-Intl has been in the surplus business for a long time and also offers their entire product catalog via eBay auction as well as their e-commerce site. IMO they already know the market for thieir products on eBay. However, if you need bulk, Centrix-Intl is hard to beat on their Foxconn products.🙂

Can this be used with those portable dvd players (the ones without a screen) that you have to hook up to a tv? Would be great if you can!

There's a lot more than just pinouts. LCD's are digital. And even if you had the pinouts and a DVI video card, you'd likely still need to do some sort of data conversion.

did anyone check HERE for the pinouts? someone mentioned earlier that others had used them with an iopener. If thats the case then that link is a good bet for finding out their information.

What you do with this thing is wire it up to a say, a PSX or something, link both of them to a ciggarette car plugin, then play away in the car ;-)

hmm ok ones the http://www.hardforum.com/ comes back up (404 as usual) we can get the links from the LCD FAQ and get crackin on making this thing be able to plug into the standared SVGA connector if its gonna happen this will but a kickass deal for case modders and people of need a small monitor for lan boxes or in the car 🙂

Can you imagine modding one of these screens into a burbie? lmao.

Seriously though, I am very interesting in one of these for a case mod, if someone smart can tell us hardware challenged guys how to do it. : )

I would also be interested. This would make a cool screen for a mobile dvd player.
Anyone find out how this can be done, let me know, please.
🙂
Bum^p

This would be bad for a dvd player/psx, imo. Have you ever tried to watch anything >15fps on a dstn screen? The ghosting is horrible.

I went ahead and picked up a couple of these. I'm thinking about trying to put one in my car. Maybe too, I could use it on my coffee table/Home Theatre PC.
