Neverwinter Nights

I have been considering buying Neverwinter Nights. I am a fan of RPG's and really liked Morrowind. Does Neverwinter Nights have significant/good single player content? I was under the impression that it was more of an online game.

BTW I like the fact that it is an older game due to my POS onboard graphics I am stuck with for a few more months. So please don't suggest I should buy a super-system hog instead (or even a regular-system hog).

What about the new Diamond edition that is coming out? Should I wait a few weeks to buy it or settle for the Platinum which is out already? Assuming I should bite of course.

NWN is extremely good at the SP story. IIRC, the online play is from player-created modules for you to explore / DM with your friends.

As far as I can tell, Diamond includes platinum plus some more content. Checking on Amazon, it's actually cheaper than the platinum release. I've been waiting to pick up platinum cheap (mostly by perusing the FS/FT forum occassionally).

I played the original campaign, and am looking forward to being able to experience the expansions.

No knowledge of "Diamond", but I also had lots of fun with NWN. Since it's probably in the under $20 bin in just about any store, it'd definitely be worth picking up for some fun IMHO. :)

I didn't like the single player story in the original NWN, but the 2nd expansion pack is good (but it contains story elements from the previous storyline).

Thanks for the input. I guess the Diamond edition includes "Kingmaker" in addition to the expansions which come with the Platinum edition. Is this a good add on? I guess the point is moot, sice It seems like a good buy being cheaper than Platinum as Diegoalcatraz said. Well I definatly will be buying it then.

this is a very in-depth and good RPG... I recommend it although I never made it through 100% to the end.

buy the platinum edition that way you get both expansion packs - it's a good game, especially multiplayer wise. i just wish they had the party system still :(

Excellent RPG. Many of the fan made modules are better than the ones by Bioware. Check out www.nwvault.com for community made hak packs (extra tilesets and functionality), portraits, modules etc.

Oh the multiplayer is fun, but best if you can find a dm'ed game checkout neverwinterconnections.com if interested. Also dont buy the basic game from the $5 bin, buy the platinum/diamond (the 2 expansion HotU and SoU both give extra gameplay features and new modules/stories to play though. Kingmaker is just an extra module made by Bioware).

I used to own NWN's and well as shadow and hordes expansions. I thought it was a great game. I see they now have the diamond edition with the additional kingmaker module. I am actually considering buying it again. Not sure if its worth it. I have heard the replay value is great, but I don't know.

i only played the main game, not the expansions.

the single player was really cool in the beginning but got REALLY repetitive towards the end.

fun if you play multi or play mods

Is neverwinter nights playable on intel GMA extreme 2 integrated graphics? I would guess no, since it can handle almost no games, but it is a somewhat older game, so maybe.

Maybe I already found my answer?

So is that a no?
