I'm a bit late to the NWN2 party but I just finished it after quite a while of it sitting in my CD case and I must say, I'm pretty disappointed.

Character movement was clunky and awkward, camera angles never seemed to work right. Computer AI was annoying to control, it was either they just stood there and did nothing, or they all ran in different directions attacking different groups of mobs that I didnt want them to. Cant tell you how many times they got stuck on some terrain and just stood there while I explored different maps. The story was so liner, there was almost no exploring, sure there were side quests but they felt forced. The alignment system is pretty bad too, you are either a total goody two-shoes or a baby killing monster, there is no in between. Plus the ending was atrocious, 3 minutes to wrap up the entire game with some cheesy pictures narrated by some coder they had working in the back.

I was expecting a lot from this game and was severely let down. The only thing that made it worth while to finish was khelgar, if he wasnt in the game I doubt I would have finished it.
This is EXACTLY how I felt, except I was not expecting much from it before I started playing. After seeing the mess of NWN 1, I was permanently jaded.
Almost all of the above complaints can be fixed simply by playing Baldurs Gate 2, but its a 2D game and gets overlooked by people who might actually enjoy it.

The download is supposedly 300-400 MB and you should burn it to backup CD since Atari charges extra to re-download it after x days.

One issue in the release thread is the install seems to default to the C drive. I don't have it yet so I don't know if you can manually fix this.

Unfortuntely, Atari's DRM in MoW is going to be the bullet to NWN2's head. They'd stated that future NWN2 expansions would hinge on the sales of MoW . . . then in the most boneheaded move possible, delayed it 18 months and crippled with it the most anti-consumer DRM possible.

NWN1 and 2 were still very good games though, with NWN1 having more content available than any other game of any genre ever created.

I bought NWN2 to multiplay it with a friend online. I found it to be sluggish and awkward too. We actually were able to multiplay it at a few points before patches broke the game and we were never able to connect after that. This isn't rocket science yet the company bioware gave the game over to managed to botch it badly. I never did finish NWN2. Big disappointment. (I played and enjoyed Baldurs Gate 1 & 2, and Icewind Dale 1 & 2.

I hope Dragon Age is a good game - if Bioware developed it, I have hope.
