Wow.. That's was a quick price drop... I guess it wasn't quite the commercial success they expected?

Atari forced them to ship it before it was finished (content cut, bugs) and they wonder why it was not a big commercial success......

WTF. They also co-ruined what could have been one of the best RPGs ever. Temple of Elemental Evil.

Argghhh!!! So frustrating! Why do they keep ruining good brands?! Just sell it to someone who'll fund the projects properly. Does Blizzard really have such a huge budget? How do they keep making great, mostly bug free games? And consoles seem to make plently of RPGs that are FINISHED when they ship...

I looked forward to this game for years, but loads of bugs, a nasty rootkit, and needing to spend 8 hours with a painful crafting set to get decent equipment really took away from the fun.

I stopped playing a few weeks ago... sad because I played the original and all the expansions through a few times each.

*disclaimer: what you are about to read was written by an absolute flaming nerd.
-this game is quite good to a nerd, despite the bugs. the story is nowhere near as masterful as baldurs gate 1 or 2 or torment. however, it outshines many other rpgs on the market, both past and present. the ending, however, was disappointing (it almost blatantly says "buy the expansion", and/or "marketing forced us to quit working on the game so we're going to go take a dump while you look at this still photo"). if, however, you go to sleep cradling your +2 scimitars (dual wielding of course), this is worth a purchase.
