a couple places are selling the 8500LE OEM 128 MB for about $110, but i was wondering what the clockspeed would be. they look like OEM's made by ATi. are they going to be 230/230, or even a 250/200? i e-mailed the stores about it, but they haven't responded yet. maybe i should just get a retail 8500le 128 MB, which can be had for about $130 if you look around hard enough.

In the vast majority of the case it'll be clocked at 250/250.
There are a small handful of vendors selling 230/230 clocked R8500's though.

the part number is 100-536, if that helps. i hope its 250/250. that would save me a $25 shipped.

Do you know which vendor's board it is?

If it's ATi's own R8500LE then it will definitely be 250/250 of course. But different vendors having varying clockspeeds.

it says "Make: ATI", and the model number fits into the standard ATi model scheme. no other brand is mentioned, so i guess that it is actually ATi. hopefully the reseller will get back to me about that. [edit: i just found the product number, which is different than the model number, and the product number is 1024-6149-20-SA. that is not on the list on ATi's website as a product made my ATi. maybe i'll just spend the extra money for the retail box. ] thanks.

I'd recommend getting the Radeon 8500 64 meg card from Newegg.com. I just sent back my 128 meg card today because the one I got shipped was clocked at 250/200. :frown: The 64 meg one comes clocked at 275/275, so you're assured a good overclock if that's the direction you wanna go. Just my 2¢.
