This is really weird. I can't print a text file. I tried to print a test page and it prints fine. I tried to print a web page and it prints fine. I try to print a text file in notepad and it won't do it, but get this, it goes through the motions of printing. The print head moves back and forth and it feeds page after page through, but it doesn't put any ink on the paper. I try to print the same text file from its online source and it won't print. There's nothing special about the file, it's just a list of monsters from Final Fantasy VI, written in Notepad or something similar. Any thoughts? I don't get it. I'm using an HP 970 via USB, with the default Windows 2000 drivers. I print text files all the time and I've never had a problem. Please help.
*Nevermind*
I got it. It was really stupid on my part. HP printers use separate cartridges for color and black. My black cartridge was just totally empty. It was still able to print a photo, or a web page because it used the colored ink, but it only uses black ink to print text. It usually says when it runs out, but it didn't this time. That was sort of the last thing on my mind since it would still print everything else.
