bret over in the for sale forum sold a 'Yahama 16x10x40 CD-RW w/ Burn Proof, Flashable, 8mb buffer, still has many years left on warrenty.' i already made my point so we don't have to extend it any further...let this die...

Am I behind the times or is there actaully a Yamaha 16x10x40x burner with burn-proof now?

I was under the impression that they use "Waste-proof' which simply mean they add 8mb of cache, right?

Thanks in advance...
dew.

I thought Yamaha didn't use Burn Proof. They have there own version. I could be wrong though.

None of the Yamaha 16X drives have Burn-Proof, or any technology derived from it. they rely on the huge 8MB buffer to prevent buffer underruns. You can find a listing of all Yamaha 16X CDRW's here, none of them support Burn-Proof. The seller in the FS forum is incorrect.

The 'Waste-Proof' technology mentioned is merely Yamaha's name for their extended 8MB cache buffer.
