Real gamer = Somone who never cheats or takes advantage of bugs or exploits or bunny hops or guns that can kill the enemy, dosent use mines, dosent use vehicles or aircraft or anything anyone might consider "n00bish" or "cheap"
This type of gamer is commonly refferred to as a "loser" and gets "pwned" by everyone elseIncluding myself.

I'm generally not one to tell people how to play their games, but if you're going to use some kind of cheat, why on earth would you do it with the games you listed? FFX-2 and FF9 are 95% story games. You don't play FF's to get the phat loot like you would Diablo, you play them to enjoy the characters and the story. The other 5% of FF is all the hidden bonus stuff that Square puts there for the diehards - the only point of doing that stuff is for the sense of accomplishment. The fun factor is typically rather low. I don't really know the Grandia series, but it's a similar CRPG, right? Should be about the same deal. And while CVSotN is a GREAT game, it's also totally unnecessary to cheat at. Save points are everywhere, you quickly become extremely powerful, and the game is just generally fun to play. The bosses are occasionally tough, but again, you'll have a save point moments before.
If you're going to cheat, do it for something truly hard, like DMC3 or Ninja Gaiden. Or Battletoads. At the very least, try out your games for a while before you go cheating at them.
Cheating at FF? Yeesh...

If you were a real gamer you wouldn't feel the need to cheat at all.
I am NOT a real console gamer. I havent been since the Snes days. I dont feel like spending butt-loads of time building up money just to buy the goodies I want.
I just want to get to the fun.
On a Windows game I am willing to spend time and earn the rewards. But thats because computer RPG's are a heck of a lot more balanced than console RPG's. You dont have to do a grind just to be properly outfitted.
The only exception to that is MMORPG's, but I dont like those anyway.
Yeah, especially the more recent games (9+). The only reason to grind is if you did some really stupid with your character development and hit a boss that you can't tackle because of it.Originally posted by: Mr Smiley
And what are you talking about grinding? Usually you will be able to go right through the game without having to gain extra levels.
To give some perspective on this, it took my wife a week of practice to beat Glass Joe in Mike Tyson's Punch Out, so a hardcore gamer she is not. But she still finished FFX.
