I'm wanting to explain this to a colleague at work, as they think that buying an OEM software, like XP Pro, means it can only be used in Dells or HPs, or whichever system it was "made" for. I understand the concept of OEM software, but I don't know how to explain the technical difference between it and retail software. I'd also like to explain why it's typically cheaper.
