TBH you did well to keep your stripes as long as you did as a P&N member. I know that I nearly lost my cool several times over my single Cuba thread in there. People were incredibly beligerant toward me simply for having an opinion that they did not like. They kept convincing themselves that I had some fairytale trip and only stayed in the tourist areas. There's no way at all that I could have toured around on my own, going to the local markets and such where the locals shopped. No way at all. :roll:

To this day I'm somehow 'famous' for that thread; JD50 just personified everything that is wrong with P&N. He said that we got "slammed". Slammed is an understatement. Many people on that forum see it as an opportunity to "slam", belittle, and insult people.

I was warned a couple of times regarding a vacation for that one thread, and for basically having an opinion. I'm pretty sure a few users were vacationed as well. Like I said, to last a few years as an elite in there says something. :wine:

Anyways, Dave gets slammed because he makes stuff up and cherry picks articles. You got slammed in your Cuba thread because you proclaimed that it was basically a paradise while you only visited the tourist sections of Cuba. That's like going to the inner harbor in Baltimore City, seeing how nice it is, then telling everyone how wonderful and clean that city is and that there is virtually no crime. If you've been to Baltimore City you know what I"m talking about.

Don't you think it's pretty natural to pick articles that support your own point of view? Have you *ever* posted an article here which supported the opposite side of an argument you were on? If not, then why accuse Dave of "cherrypicking" for doing the exact same thing? As far as "making things up"... well, there were those earthquake predictions

And, as far as Sickbeast is concerned, have you been to Cuba?
You are aware, I hope, that unlike North Korea, China, and other "communist" countries, visitors to Cuba are free to go where they want; they're not on guided tours with the freedom to only visit the nicer sections. I find it incredulous that someone who has never visited Cuba thinks they have any authority to tell someone who did visit Cuba that what they saw wasn't true.

Lighten up buddy. You post in P&N you know you're going to get flamed somehow, someway. I personally think you're just bitter about losing your Elite status therefore you feel like you need to put the mods in check for one reason or another, or you feel like you were singled out and you feel the need to get others in trouble to make yourself feel better.

WRT Dave cherry picking his articles, I was referring to the times when he links an article, then cuts and pastes together different sentences and paragraphs to make it look like the article is saying the opposite of what it is actually saying.

WRT to Sickbeast and Cuba, I most certainly will comment on what I think Cuba is like and call him on his bullshit about it being a paradise. You don't have to physically go to a country to know that it is a shit hole. John McCain said that Iraq was "like a normal outdoor market in Indiana in the summertime", who are we to disagree with him, considering neither of us (I'm assuming you haven't) have actually been there? Anyways, I think the hundreds of thousands of refugees that float on homemade rafts through 90+ miles of shark infested waters might disagree with Sickbeast, or any other tourist for that matter, that Cuba is a wonderful country. See my analogy about Baltimore City and the inner harbor if you are still confused as to why I completely disagree with Sickbeast about Cuba.

Hey, I could be wrong, maybe some people just really enjoy spending their summers sailing around the ocean in a 1951 Chevy pickup truck....
