We moved into our house 2 months ago and the a/c stopped being cold a few days ago. We finally got someoen from our home warranty place to come out and check it out and they said the compressor is bust. He said the compressor and install should all be covered by the warranty, but disposal of the old one isnt and it should be about TWO HUNDRED BUCKS?!!?! Ive tried finding info on AC compressor disposal on the net, butI cant find anything. This is in Sacramento, CA by the way. Any one have any tips on where/who to call to get this info?

thanks !

Around here we have a 'big trash day' in the spring and fall. We can get rid of ANYTHING. Tires, stoves, AC units, just about ANYTHING. Do you have anything like that?

Worst comes to worst...just store it in a box in your attic or basement.

We have one of those days to.......well your just going to throw it in the trash......and tell him your gonna dispose of it just like OBW96 said. And if that bastard says...no it's against the law for you to throw away your own part.....Tell him that's total BS.
