Sorry to hear of your woes. But...

You should've bought a nice, normal MP3 player for 1/2 the price. It would still be working. IPODs of all ilk are greatly overpriced and overrated IMO.

I've had the same Rio Cali MP3 player for almost 5 years now. 256MB on board, 2GB SD card in the slot. I have hundreds of tunes on there.

Does it have a fancy screen? No. But it shows song/artist/length/bitrate/time/etc info. It's been dropped, stepped on, kicked and dropkicked more times than I can count. Uses an easily replaceable AAA battery. And did I mention it still works?

Return it and buy something else. MO.

Weird, but good news.

after cursing at it profusely, it revived itself to show a nearly dead battery, guess i have a cable problem, not an ipod problem as it charges just fine when hooked to my car stereo but not when hooked into my computer...
