I know it's possible, but I've never done it.

Why would you want to do that?

So you don't have to enter the key everytime you install. Also it makes it so you can automate the installation process - boot from the CD & walk away.

Welp, glad i could help. Actually, I hadn't thought of what ViperGTS mentioned. I thought it was just some kind of blatant hacking/warez thing. And I did find it odd that you didn't just want to type in an easily obtainable cd key.
