Nevermind I figured it out

The PSU has a 20pin or 24pin connection. The motherboard uses 20pin connection. Do I need to keep the 4pin connected to the 20pin on the cable and just connect it or seperate them before connecting it to the motherboard?
Thanks.

My Seasonic S12-500 has the 24 pin connector that splits apart for connection to legacy motherboards. I assume this is what you figured out to do, because it won't work the other way (without something breaking). 🙂
