ok, now that you have laughed, how can i fix it?

It's real simple. Simple sheetrock repair job. After you fix the hole with replacement sheetrock, prime and popcorn the ceiling to match. You can rent the compressor and hopper gun for popcorn texture from places such as Home Depot.

Or you can simply call a drywall company or painter to fix it for you for a fee.

Assuming you're in a 2 story house? Or you have no basement or crawl space? I do all the wiring under the floor, not in the attic. heh.

Wireless cost $$$ when you have nothing currently that is wireless. Cat 5 is cheap when you have a brother and a father who install the stuff for a living and give you a 1000 ft of it :) :) :)

Except now you have to spend money getting the ceiling fixed.

I suppose you can wet your finger and pop a hole through any wall in your house. That's one sh!tty ceiling structure you got there. Whatever happened to putting up boards on top of the support beams? I hope you didn't paid more than $100 for that house of yours.

Quote Of The Day/Week Has Returned!

"I can't say I've had any formal training, but I also am quite careful about these things, as I have no desire to be killed by a plethora of crazed electrons." - Jeff7 on modding powersupplies
Sorry, I had to post, as this was the first I'd noticed that I'd been quoted. :)

How about getting with the 21st century and going wireless ?
Is wireless actually secure yet? Or could any neighbor just use a packet sniffer of some sort and gain access to an encrypted network? I recall reading that, given enough packet samples, there is software that can figure out the encryption key. Any truth to that?

Problems with image resizing? Using Firefox? Image Zoom extension. :)
However, in terms of conserving bandwidth and reducing download time for those on dialup, I also suggest Irfanview. It's simple, effective, and loads fast.

What are beams?

Incidentally, I have about 5 holes in my ceiling that look like that.

I had to go up in my attic last week. If I had done that, I'd still be crying.

Sorry.
