I took maybe 15 min today and completely cleaned my desk/comp area. It is amazing. I feel like I want to be productive now (which is a great thing considering the work due tomorrow). I cant believe I put this off for this long. Especially because it only took maybe 15 min to do.

It isn't a mess! I know exactly where everything is :D (approximately -- I can narrow it down to which room it's in ;) )

I think it's pretty common to clean before studying for a test or working on a project or something like that. Perhaps it's procrastination, perhaps it's because we work better in a clean environment... My desk at work is a bit messy.

Productive procrastination via cleaning. It is very common.

I clean my desk once a week, or more often. It doesn't take long to get dirty again.

ya I read that before but I am a much happier theopetro when my stuff is in order. With all the stressful ****** going on right now I need something in order.

It works great though as a visible example of the George Costanza principle - 'I look annoyed' (or in this case cluttered) therefore I must be busy. :)

In my case, my mess actually was the result of being busy. But during the slow times it paid dividends when I didn't take the time to clean it up and instead surfed the web for a couple hours. People would just assume I was still slammed.

My home desk got pretty badly cluttered during school. I FINALLY took time to muck it out and deal with all the crap that had accumulated during the semester.
HOWEVER...

Well the good thing is, if you never make it a mess, you never have to unclutter stuff!

GENIUS!
