you're an asshole. there was probably only $20 on the card.

Even if their system said it was $20 they could have at least offered some good customer service and credited me the $10. More than likely one of their employees screwed up.

And his attitude telling me he'll "say anything he wants" was also unacceptable. Especially after I told him not to talk.

Why should they give you anything additional? You acted like a complete jerk, tell the manager not to talk, and come off as a complete ass in your OP. If you were half as bad as your post indicates, you're lucky you didn't get banned.

walmart is not a charity. it was their word against yours and they had more factual proof than you that there was only $20 on the card.
Indeed. Their computer system said twice that there was only $20 on the card - first at the register, and again from that transaction history computer. Both say $20. You say differently. The computer is going to be more reliable.

Wow, you have your head stuck farther up your ass than I do.

So by your logic I should be able to take ea 5 dollar git card into walmart and say their is 500 dollars on it and they should say uhhhh ok.

You bro probably still has a receipt. ask him for it.

you are NOT the boss of him

No but I am a customer and he shouldn't have been trying to interupt when I was trying to talk to the manager above him. How is that appropriate at all? No wonder customer service is so bad these days. Everyone seems to think that's completely ok.

you sound like a jerkoff, i work in retail and if someone told me i was wrong about the gift card amouth with a line of people waiting i would have been rude to them to. you should have finished your transaction out of the consideration of the people in line and took your matter up to customer service.

Look I don't want everyone to think I'm an ass I just don't think they handled the situation well and I didn't want to let them screw me out of my money. I normally am not like that to retail workers, but normally they are respectful.

And why not? The only real penalty for bad customer service is losing customers. At that point I'm sure they didn't give a rat's ass whether you continued shopping at Wal-Mart. As far as they knew you were trying to con their employer out of $10.

But there was only $20 on the gift card. Their computers said so, twice. $20 were put on the card, $20 came off.
Get the original receipt and get back to us. 🙂

You guys are missing the point. Who gets a GC to f'n Walmart as a gift? Haha, that just screams trailer trash.
Walmart is also a staple of some college students who need to stretch money as far as possible.

Too late - you come off as a huge prick (both in your story and your posts here.) Sounds like you got treated appropriately.

Blow me. Walmart has video games, dvds, name brand groceries and everything else. Sorry if I don't buy a shitty 38 dollar ash tray from pier one imports that was made in mexico city like you.

Did you check to see how much was on the balance of the card? You can probably do it by calling a phone number on the back of the card or on their website.

The Wal-Mart employee should have promptly jumped over the counter and beat your ass in the middle of the store! You told him not to talk? You've got to be sh!tting me. Maybe the employees where pissed off at you because you kept breaking all their chairs.

The one missing piece to this story is why do you think it was a $30 card.

My brother wrote $30 on the card he sent. And no, he doesn't play jokes like that.
Maybe he remembered wrong. Does he still have the receipt?

I already linked to that 😉
