How do they fit over 127 million people on those islands? Japan has more than twice the population of Great Britain.

The whole country is crowded.
Haven't you seen those pictures of 'hotels' where you rent a cubbyhole style bed?

To be fair, they are also, on average, about three feet tall.

You think they don't know that? They saw it coming about 70 years ago and thats why they invaded China.

Now China has more ppl than they know what to do with too.

thing is, japan is having a major problem with population decline.

more and more people in japan are not getting married and they don't have much immigration.

they say that in a few decades they're population will have decreased some 20% or something like that.

oh, i must also add that 60% of statistics are made up on the spot.

(but the population decline in japan thing is real)

Those capsule hotels are suposed to be for when you've stayed up all night working/partying (either one) and need somewhere to crash while being to lazy to go home. They are gender segragated too.

they must have no claustrophobes in japan. i get the shivers just thinking of staying in such a confined space

They are really used to living in much smaller spaces... even expensive hotel rooms are like college dorms (in my experience).

Id rather stay in a Love Hotel...
