I don't want to be a dick, but here in NYC, all we ever heard, every single day, since 9/11/2001...was 9/11 this, and 9/11 that. It's so watered down now, that most people just can't care anymore. I am not joking about having 9/11 propaganda shoved down our throats literally EVERY single day since that day.

I was as angry as anyone back then, but now...I just wished people moved on.

EDIT: FWIW - I did like the light show in your pic. We went up to the roof of my building and saw it from about 13 miles away. It was pretty heartening back then.

Oh it's 11/9? I forgot.

Seems innocent right? You knew what you were doing, and this you rain down on you. Goodbye for a few days

seriously, get your fucking lovely human ass out of this thread if you have nothing to add... trolling on a remembrance thread is NOT looked upon highly...

i still remember exactly what i did that day, the class i was in, the teacher who came over and told us, listening to it on the radio, and the fact that the administration at school told us not to watch anything on tv

Next time use the report buttons that are to the left of every post.
Personal attacks such as this are are not allowed, regardless of the nature of the thread

all your sheep and canned beets. who knows.

Excuse me but I made a comment significantly less dickish than the two above me and was attacked quite strongly ("kangaroo fucking ideals", "fucking lovely human ass") simply because I'm not a Merry Can. And I didn't even respond aggressively, I put the silly attacker in his place with a completely non-offensive image.

I do see your point. I have always been sickened a little by the constant replaying of the footage and the constant reminders. My wife and I experienced it first hand and moved away from new york a few years ago to start our family. My wife worked with the families of the victims and we lost friends who were like family. I personally can talk about it now but my wife still cant. We have a news blackout every year here at home during the week leading up to it because it makes her too upset.

The thing that bothers me most is the footage of the actual plane strikes. I still cannot watch it do this day...

No offense, but after 9 years and there's still just a pair of lights shining up in the sky?

probably because you didn't lose any friends or family.

i lost a friend... and all i can think of today is how his kids are growing up without a dad.

If you lost a friend its even MORE important you move on. Get over it, or you're gonna be miserable for the rest of your life.

When they say "pull" it's referring to removing emergency personnel from the building, demolishing a building of that size takes weeks of planning and strategic placement of charges. I cannot understand the logic of anyone claiming any of the buildings that went down as an "inside job" with planted demolition charges, if that was the case why fly a jumbo jet full of fuel at 600 MPH into the side of them?, just set off your charges and it's done right?.

Those towers should have been rebuilt (almost identical to what they were aesthetically as soon as possible).

I don't think today should be a "sad" day, just as memorial and veterans day isn't "sad" It should be a proud and a "stand up straight" day.
