NEVER challenge Gaston to pushups UPDATE- He's back!

I have no idea who that is. What movie is he from?

I've read on multiple occasions that the selection process for the people who play those characters is quite grueling...it's more of a skilled occupation; not just some employee that drew the short straw and had to wear the Chuck E. Cheese suit that day.

edit: to be fair, though, a drill sergeant would give him a count of '0' on those pushups. The kid was actually 'breaking the plane.'

It's a very skilled acting position. Also. characters are paid by popularity. Snow White gets paid more than Chip and Dale for instance.

From Beauty and the Beast. Before I watched the video, I thought it was the candlestick, then I remembered Gaston was the guy that Belle was supposed to marry or go out with.

Pretty cool that their actors can back up the character. I want an awesome job like this.

As others have said, this character isn't even fully locking out or going full depth. The one handed ones are still impressive but meh.

I guess I was figuring he was someone from one of the newer CGI movies.

I'm kinda surprised that character is even used in the parks...how many kids running around there are watching animated films from 1991?

You could say the same thing about some plumber from the early 80s, and the answer would be the same: marketing and brand-whoring.

Probably the same amount that are going around watching Winnie the Pooh, the Little Mermaid, The Hunchback of Notre Dame (which wasn't a kids movie BTW), Toy Story, and all of the others. They have countless classics that are timeless.

I grew up watching animated films from 1935 so.........

The Toy Story characters used to go limp and drop to the ground if anyone yelled "Andy's coming" but had to stop because people were doing it all the damn time and Disney was worried it became a safety issue.

I wouldn't want to be the Gaston character at Disney now. Poor guy is probably being challenged to push-up contests 3 times a day 🙂
