Nevemind the question.

It's easier to get out, I guess. My dad parks in backwards (white).

Maybe you're just thinking more about it?

Technically they say you should be backing into a parking space, but few people do it as it's easier to back out from a small area to a big area. Why black people do it more, don't know.

Though I'm white and always backup into the driveway at home when it's winter as it's easier to see if cars are coming when there's 4-7 foot snow banks on both sides of the driveway. When going to walmart I usually find a spot where two parkings facing each other are empty so I just drive right into the next one, but I wont cycle the whole walmart 15 times in order to find such spot, like some people do. 😛

I thought this thread was going to be about 80's model cadillacs with $3000 rims.

To be honest, thats what I thought this thread was going to be about too. This issue is more prominent to me as I drive an older caprice. It isn't uncommon to get "offers" for it when pulling up to a light in traffic. I have yet to have a single white or hispanic person do this.

As far as backing up to park is concerned, I haven't noticed any real correllation between that and race where I'm from. I consider them all to be irksome...

Here's the honest answer and I'm sure I'll be called a racist because of it.

Most factory jobs have a hard stop time and everybody dashes to their car to get out of the lot. The time it takes to back out of the spot means you aren't at the front of the line to get out of the lot.

😕

This reminds me of a co-worker that's from the UK that asked me why black people lean against the side of the door while driving.

He thought maybe it was to hide a broken seat belt just in case a cop saw or something.
