Read the numerous quotes and statements in this thread. Fern was the leader of that particular statement and backed it up. I'm not doing your homework this time.

They abused the wording of the contract to change how many cattle were allowed after bundy spend massive amounts of money building roads/water and infrastructure.

They've done this numerous times in the past when big biz (this time funded by obama) wanted to pay for the land.

They make up BS about turtles, take back 100's of acres under contract with these farmers, set up a 1 acre turtle reserve and sell the rest.

Shameful, just shameful that you modern progressives and big government supporters are a-ok with this.
Yeah, I doubt that.

However, the theory that Reid's putative involvement in the Bundy dispute was motivated by a desire to somehow profit from the building of a solar plant falls flat in the face of two basic facts: The site that ENN Mojave Energy was planning to buy in order to build a solar plant is nowhere near the public land Bundy has been disputing with the government, and ENN gave up the solar project and terminated its agreement to buy land to house it as far back as June 2013

Even the conservative Breitbart site debunked this conspiracy claim, noting: Despite the obvious partisan gain to be had if Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's son Rory (a failed 2010 Nevada gubernatorial candidate) had somehow been involved in a "land grab" affecting the Bundy family ranch operation — the facts just do not pan out as such. Indeed, Rory Reid did in fact have a hand in plans to reclassify federal lands for renewable energy developments. Just northeast of Las Vegas and Nellis Air Force Base, plans were drawn by Reid allies to potentially develop 5,717 acres of land for such use. While it would be fair to claim that such activity was in Bundy's relative neighborhood, the federal lands once leased by the family were more than 20 miles away, east of Overton, Nevada.

Conspiracy theories make for good movies at least.

You know good and well that cnn would be airing anti-bundy 24/7 if they could.

Bundy acknowledges the fed government, just not their title over reselling the land to obama backed energy company. Don't be dishonest in your debate, you can do better than this without distorting like you always do. I know, I know, it's in your blood, it's what they taught you in the those 3 short years. Rofl

You are buying into a totally false, long debunked conspiracy theory. The land to be used for the energy company facility was nowhere near Bundy's grazing land, and the plan to build the facility has long since been abandoned. http://www.snopes.com/politics/conspiracy/nevada.asp

Bundy most certainly does not recognize the authority of the federal government over this land, and has demanded - after BLM agreed to cease seizure of his cattle - that all BLM and National Park Service personnel in the county be arrested, and that all NPS tollbooths and barricades within the county be torn down. He has also said that he believes Nevada is a sovereign state and does not fall under the authority of the United States government (despite the state constitution expressly saying that it does).

I love the way you constantly resort to cheap personal attacks, based on nothing, then act shocked and indignant when anyone else does anything similar. In fairness I supposed you are at least consistent in your inconsistency and hypocrisy.

This is what courts are for. If he thinks the feds are in breach of contract, you SUE. You don't cause an armed conflict. You know like living in a civilized society, rule of law, etc... Do you or anyone else have an argument that doesn't boil down to 'it isn't fair that I am being bullied by the owner of the land'?

That land has supported cattle ranching and turtles for well over a hundred years.

No, it ain't really about turtles.

Fern
I agree it's not about turtles, but about making sure the wrong people don't profit a little and the right people do profit a lot from public lands. However, their point is still valid: the BLM has to determine the allowable ratio of cattle to land to keep the endangered tortoise population healthy. I agree that the BLM is not acting in good faith, but that's my opinion, and while it's based on long observation of this behavior, it's not settled fact.

Exactly right, you take him to court, you arrest him after the court proceeding.

What you don't do is kill his cattle, then show up with backhoes/dumptrucks threatening to kill more cattle along with 80+ armed federal agents. Over "turtles".

If you do that, you will have Patriots arriving in defense formation ready to stand tall.

He won't acknowledge this and will likely repeat the false narrative. He has a history of telling a lie, being proven wrong, and doubling down on said lie. I'd say it's an even more defining characteristic of him than his blatant racism.

If you do that, you will have domestic terrorists arriving in aggressive formation ready to illegally threaten federal agents.

Had to make a couple corrections there for you.

I haven't seen anything about them killing cattle. The court order said that the BLM could seize and sell the cattle to cover the fees. Somehow I think when you are going to seize property from someone, you probably should bring armed people to keep the peace. I just don't think he would willingly let them take his cattle. :colbert: Again, any argument that doesn't boil down to the 'government is being unfair with their land'?

mexicans live like kings for years now

the reason is, to bring them in because they usually vote for democrats, which is favorable for the establishment that hijacked the us government, to offset the libertarian movement, that is heavily influencing the republican party, but that's what republican party always was, still, the leadership of it are fake ones in-bed with the system, which we call them the republican bluebloods.

they get all the charity care, they get all the benefits, they also can skip lines in hospital and get treated first, and the borders are wide open, the show "border control" on discovery channel is a total joke. welcome to planet hoax.

I'm sure I'm going to regret this, but do you have a source on the bolded?

It's obvious that you don't live in the Southwest US. Mexicans are hardly living like kings here.

Why are you derailing your own thread?

FYI, this is a well-written and clear article about this standoff, written by a strong Second Amendment advocate. http://sheepdogusa.wordpress.com/20...ven-bundy-ranch-and-the-wolves-on-both-sides/

I would like this article more if it didn't take pains to make false equivalencies.

Like this

But it’s difficult to tell where the truth is in all of this, and by now its obvious wolves on both sides are busy framing the scenario and how it all played out to their political base. It’s one reason I held making my assessment until I had time to review the situation, and apply rational critical thinking.
Then he goes on to describe how Bundy is 100% wrong and all the efforts the BLM made to resolve the issue over a 20 year period.

And then this

On the right, Alex Jones and others claimed authoritarian abuse and Gestapo-like tactics on the part of the BLM and law enforcement. On the left Progressives decried the video as evidence of lawlessness and gun toting “terrorists”.
Then he goes on to describe Dunn's daughter jumping in front of a moving BLM truck, officers pushing to stop her from getting hit. Then Dunn's son ramming a BLM truck and kicking a K-9 unit dog and getting tased because of it. Yet somehow that doesn't show lawlessness? And all the loons with sniper guns trained at FED agents aren't terrorists?

And finally,

And Kornze for poorly managing the situation, letting it spiral out of control, and not understanding the term “compromise”.
I just don't see what the BLM could have done differently besides not seize the cattle and continue to let Bundy flout the laws.

I just wish somebody on the right would be honest and call it like it is without an attempt at false equivalencies.

What patriots? I saw a bunch of cowards and militia members. Anyone who supports a person like Bundy isn't is a patriot, patriots actually pay for things and don't steal them.

Good thing our founding fathers didn't have the same mindset as you do, as we would assuredly be bowing to the queen right now.

Of course politically that's exactly what you'd prefer anyway.. 😵

Any response to the Snopes article or the other article I posted, or are you just going to keep dispensing snipes to the President and other posters? Or is it time to post your old favorite hot-girl-looking-disgusted GIF in lieu of actual thoughtful commentary?
