I think the point is not to pay...

There is probably a way to remove the banners, but previous "hacks" have been detected. You might be able to remove the actual ads with AtGuard or whatnot, but I think you're pretty much SOL.
 
I used to have a link to a site that told you how the password is encrypted, but I just tried to go there and the site was taken down.
 
I know the point was not to pay I was just being a smarta$$, the banners are the reason its free. I don't think 9.99 is unresonable for dial up, I think some places still charge like $20 which is insane.

But like they said there used to be ways to get ride of the banners not sure now...
