networking with Win98 & Win2k problem

OK, I have 2 machines networked. Both have win 2k and win98. When i run 1 machine with 98 and the other on win2k, the one thats running win2k cant take any files from the 98 machine, but the 98 machine can freely take any file. When i ping, that seems fine, I'm even able to share my cable modem with no prob. Is there some problem with w2k networking with 98?

(in w2k, when i go to "my network places"--->"computers near me" ----> it lists the other machine, but when i click on its icon, nothing appears, and I did enable file printer sharing on the 98 machine)

Since internet sharing works, better to not disturb tcp/ip settings. Just add netbeui, which is self-configuring, as the default LAN protocol. If you still get nothing, recheck the user drive sharing permissions.

Did you set up the Win2k install so that it automatically logs you into the local machine. If so that disables the machines ability to browse due to its open security.
