Networking Windows 2000 and XP to share files

Just built my back up rig and have 2000 running on it and I would like to be able to share files between the two PCs. I have both of the PCs connected to a router and am using Zone Alarm firewall. Is there a simple step by step guide for setting up a network and sharing the files? Thanks

As well as specific adjustment of each computer according to what is allowed to be shared.
