NETWORKING WINDOWS 2000 and XP -HELP-

Everything is networked but some reason when i wanna share files. It ask for a password and username but when i type it in it dont work why. This is the windows 2000 machine trying to connect to XP

This is probably a Windows 2000 issue.

Log to Win2000 as Administrator make sure that Guest account is not disabled.

Check the C: sharing make sure that permissions are all allowed.

Edit later.

If you are the only user you can, add the Guests Accounts to the Administrator Group, then log to the Guest account and put in an empty password that never expires.

Try to log again from the second computer if you get the password menu type the word Guest, and press Enter.

My problem is similar, but the opposite - my Win2K machine can see my WinXP machine no problem, but I can't seem to get my WinXP machine to see the Win2K shared folders! I followed the steps in the various AT FAQs that I found, but nothing seems to work.

When you turn on either computer, do you have to put in a password to enter windows?

You do. Howevr you can use the PowerToys Logon to automate it.

nm i got it if u have no shared folder u ant get into folder. So u have to have atleast 1 folder shared.
