I've quite some questions needed some answer from u guys here ... wish u guys can help me solve some of them ... all even best still ...
Part A
If u r considering to network around 100 workstations + printers within a department, what hardware(hub, bridge, switch) will be used? will it be better if those 100workstations divided into few segments connected to hub/bridge/switch ... few segments linked to a "department switch" or will it be better if all r connected to a single department switch ...
What will be the solution if
a) fast speed is an issue ...
b) speed doesnt really matter much
*budget is not an issue in this scenario but still be realistic ^v^
Part B
Do ppl actually place an additional router(connect the building and Internet) that act as backup router if the original router break down into the network? If ppl do, how do ppl do it? Where do they place the router? If ppl dun do that, how do they actually recover from this single point of failure issue fast n effective?
I'm just a newbie trying to understand networking ... if u r free and wanna help ... pls drop some answers to my questions ... thx!!!
