Networking Question

Hey, I've never really networked anything in my life so I have a very simplistic question, any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Ok, I have 2 pc's running win2k, they both have ethernet cards and are plugged into a Linksys hub.
I gave them the same workgroup name(in this case BLAH) and i chose two ips close together(1.0.0.5 and 1.0.0.10) I enabled print/file sharing and thats all I did.

Under the workgroup "BLAH" on each pc they can only see themselves and they can't see one another. What am I doing wrong? A walkthrough would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks very much....
Sorry if this question is really dumb and sorry about the spelling.

Do you have Client for Microsoft Networks enabled? Also I dont know if it would help at all but try changing the ips to like 192.168.1.100 and 192.168.1.101.

Assign them both the same subnet 255.255.255.0

DNS and Gateway settings are only needed if you plan to use a ISP with static addressing or you plan to share a Internet connection.

Got it working! yaH..
thnxs a bunch. ONE more question though. All the pc gives me access to is printer/task manager and I wanna transfer a file over. How do i set the other pc to allow me to do this?

Set up a shared folder on the computer that you want to send the file to. Create a new folder anywhere and right click it and there should be Sharing options in the menu.
