Networking problems... PLEASE HELP

Here's my setup. Linksys WAP, Linksys Wireless PCMCIA card, DLink DI-704 Router/Switch, 3Com cable modem, Comcast @Home ISP.

Now here's the situation. Everything works fine, then all of the sudden every once in a while I'll get disconnected from AOL saying somthing Requested Timed Out, or something like that. Here's what I observe:
There are 2 lights on top of each other on the router: M1 and M2. M2 is the activity between the router and the modem. The M1 light is the activity between the lan and the router (I think). When the M2 light is blinking everything works, but it obviously won't work when it's not blinking.

I can access the router's config page so it's not that.

I can't figure it out!! Help!!!!

Can you get anywhere on the internet after AOL dies? Or is it just AOL that you're having problems with?
