Networking Problem--a little help?

I have two Win2k machines set up on a home network via a crossover cable. The client computer often can't get internet access--I have to re-log on to the host to get it to work, and sometimes it won't work even then. I have dial-on-demand set up, and the client actually dials up my connection and gets the host logged on, but it still doesn't get internet access. I'm at a loss.

Any ideas?
