Networking printers

I had a printer networked with 3 other computers. One day the printer wasn't responding on one computer, so i decided to reinstall it. Since that point, every time i try to reinstall it, the add printer process crashes. I can't seem to add the printer. I can add a local printer, but not a networked printer. Is there a way to delete the old installation of the printer so i can install it again? I'm running XP and the networked printer is on a computer running 98. It was working perfectly before, but now it doesn't work. Any suggestions?

Same exact thing just happened to me today.

I am on a Win98 PC and the printer is attached to a Win2K server.

I was playing with the printer settings and screwed things up pretty bad, so I decided to delete the printer and reinstall.

When I went to reinstall the printer on my Win98 PC, I get to the printer setup wizard and browse the network to choose the printer, but when I press the next button i get "Spool32 caused an IPF in <unknown>".

I have reinstalled spool32.exe from the CD, thinking that the file was corrupt, but that didn't work.

I know this isn't any help, but I was curious to see what the error message that you got when it crashes.
I've read so many TIDs on Spool32, I may be able to point you in the right direction. If I can't get mine working by tomorrow afternoon, I'm going to start noodling around in the registry.
