Networking path

I have some questions with reference to networking path as a career. You have two big names Microsoft and Cisco. My question is, if I would like to join or recommend someone to join the networking path, which one should it be and why? I would like to know everything from importance, benefit, potential, etc.

I've started on this path myself, have finished CCNA and will be starting MCSA in the fall. Essentially, it just comes down to what you prefer yourself. There is no right or wrong. I'd say the Cisco stuff is more about network hardware and actual network paths, while MS is more software and more about users and group management.

Both are hard to learn and pretty much require you to be interested in learning them, since without motivation, you're screwed imo. So pick whichever one interests you more and run with it. Be prepared for a lot of reading of technical books, pretty much for the rest of your life 😀
