Networking Linux + XP Pro

Hey guys, I'm looking to setup my extra box as a full time linux ftp/file server here at home. I'm curious if it is possible/difficult to share a folder on a linux box on my xp box, so I can map it as a network drive. If anyone can help I'd be indebted for life 😉

Also - Any Linux guru's know if the first nForce chipset is supported by newer (recent) linux distro's? (ala Mandrake 9.0)

THANKS!

Look at the SAMBA FAQ on the Anandtech FAQ section of the site. Its quite good.

nForce should be supported, but I dont know to what degree. nVidia does not like to play nice, so most distros dont carry their drivers in the free download distros.
