Networking In Ubuntu

This is kind of related to my other thread in here. I was trying to get Ubuntu installed on a computer, and ran into problems due to a quirky MB. The short of it is the board won't work with my wireless card installed. I was wondering if I could hook up a crossover cable from the desktop(Hopefully Ubuntu 9.04), to my Eee(Ubuntu-eee(8.04)), and use it's wireless connection to access the web.

I figured this would be better here than in Networking since it's Linux specific. My Linux experience is fairly weak, my networking even worse, and I'm not sure what terms I should use for a Google search. If someone could point me in the right direction, I'd greatly appreciate it :^)

windows would call this "internet connection sharing" or ICS

its not an ideal solution, but it does work. googling with that term and ubuntu led me to these, im about to leave work so i cant look over theem, but they may wor.
