Networking Delema

I have a wireless network at my house; Modem > Router > PC.

Everytime I restart my PC, I am given limited to no connectivity on my PC. I have to go restart the modem, then the router, and finally the problem is solved.

Is there any way to avoid this time consuming delema?

I ran into a very similar problem w/a Netgear WPN824. Instead of having the router go out and check for firmware updates (after you login to the router) try going directly to support page for your hardware and download to the desktop and install it from there. I would search for new firmware nearly every time I logged into the router and it never saw the availablr update. Hope this helps...

What router, sounds like a firmware bug

Netgear WGR614 v9

It's not supported yet, but they are working on it. When available d/l and install DD-WRT firmware in the router. This is a linux based firwmare, and it just works. And you don't need to be linux savy, configuration is through a GUI.
DD-WRT

I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for that.

Anyone have any ideas that would work for the time being?
