Networking Blu Ray Player to HTPC

I just picked up a new Panasonic DMP-BD35K Blu Ray player with Ethernet port. Is there a way to connect the Blu Ray player to my HTPC for an internet connection?

My router which is DD-WRT supported (Buffalo Mimo) is upstairs on my main PC thus I can't hard wire it.

My HTPC (Vista Ultimate 32bit) downstairs is on my main Television has a wireless card to connect to the net.

So my understanding is I'll have to add an additional NIC card in the HTPC and need a crossover cable?

Is it possible to use the existing ethernet ports on the mobo?

I also have another Netgear router.. can I turn that into a bridge?

(I know I can buy an wireless bridge but I'm trying to avoid this if I can just utilize the connection on the HTPC)

Yes. Easy to do. Enable the wired NIC, select the wireless and the wired NIC and right click - bridge connections. Use a crossover cable to the blu-ray.

The better solution would be a wireless bridge and then connect both your HTPC & blue ray player to the wireless bridge (many come with multiple ethernet ports) or get a DDWRT compatible router and turn that into a bridge.
